Hydronic Heating Leaks Explained
How heating loops lose water, and why pressure is the first clue.
Hydronic systems should hold pressure. A loop that needs frequent topping up is losing water somewhere - often a small leak that never reaches a visible surface.
Warm floor spots, dropping boiler pressure and air noises are the classic signs. Thermal imaging and pressure isolation locate the loop section.
Repairs are plumbing work; locating first prevents opening floor sections that are not the problem.
